NRM Secretary Gen. Kasule Picks Nomination forms for M7.

The NRM Secretary General Rt. Hon Kasule Lumumba has today picked Nomination Forms from the National Electoral Commission Head Offices on behalf of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni the NRM Candidate who will contest on the NRM ticket as the Presidential flag bearer.

Lumumba has picked the forms such that the process of endorsing the party presidential flag bearer is started in due time.

Speaking shortly after receiving the forms, Lumumba said she had come to pick the forms on behalf of the NRM presidential flag bearer as mandated by the party constitution.

“The Secretary General is by Party Constitution mandated to ensure that the candidate the party chooses gets the signatures required for nomination at the National Electoral Commission” said kasule.

She added that is also her responsibility as the Secretary General to come to the Electoral Commission and declare the candidate that NRM has chosen such that we compete with other parties in a democratic way.

The Nomination Forms will be sent to all districts of the country so as to be endorsed by the party members and well-wishers in the respective districts.

On  a number of candidates who have picked nomination forms in a bid to challenge president Museveni  on the post  of the highest office  in the country, Lumumba said it was a sign of  democracy and trust that most Ugandans have that there will be free and fair elections.

“I am happy owing to the fact that more than 30 candidates have picked forms to stand for presidency and that shows the level of democracy we have that they have accepted to stand for the post,” the  NRM Secretary General, said.

She has however hastily requested NRM members not to be hoodwinked into signing forms for candidates that are not NRM members.
