O-level syllabus to
undergo radical change
in 2017.
The new learning areas in the new
syllabus were adopted to help students
be more relevant in the modern world
since a lot of what they are currently
studying is obsolete.
For the last 42 years, Uganda’s lower-
secondary education curriculum has
stayed the same. But that is a matter
that curriculum specialists are
working to change, to have eight
learning subjects.
The new learning areas in the new
syllabus were adopted to help
students be more relevant in the
modern world since a lot of what they
are currently studying is obsolete.
