Minister asks teachers to return to class

The Minister for Primary Education John Chrysostom Muyingo has called upon teachers to resume on their duties as government works on their demands. Muyingo says that it is the children that surfer whenever teachers goes on strike yet they are innocent. Government has refused to increase the 10% salaries that teachers are demanding which prompted them to continue with their industrial action. Muyingo says that he understands the situation that teachers are going through but currently government has no money to increase their salaries yet there is hope to have some increment.
Meanwhile, the Uganda National Teachers Union (UNATU) Kampala branch Chairperson, Expedito Kisekka has asked government not to blame teachers over the current mess. Kiseka says government officials should instead blame themselves for every mistake in education system they are taking.
