Children Bellow 10 Years Shouldn’t Be in Boarding Schools

The East African Members of parliament (EALA) have passed a resolution banning children below 10 years to be in boarding schools.
The EALA MPs passed this while discussing a report of the committee on General purpose on the Oversight Activity on rights of children in EAC partner states in Uganda, parliament.
The Ugandan representative to the East African legislative Assembly Suzan Nakawuki says they want this resolution taken up by the East African member states after observing that parents Shun their responsibility towards their children.
She says that children as early as 2 years are sent to boarding schools and children are neglected at school and can get parents love.
She says that teachers have become parents which she termed as infringing on children right to be with their parents.
She says that the ministries of education in all member states should make it a policy that children below 10 years should not be in boarding school.
Nakawuki moved EALA MPs to reorganize the contribution of the Nabagereka of Buganda Sylvia Naginda for her contribution towards training children to be responsible citizen and she adds that there should be more for such dedicated persons in the region in helping to raise children.
