One person has been shot for illegal mining – Mikono

One person has been shot and eight others arrested for illegal mining in Mpunge village in Mukono district.

Police said that some of those caught had marijuana.

The crackdown follows complaints to the district administration that the miners were encroaching on a murram road and a school’s land.
