Odoki’s appointment illegal

The Constitutional court has ruled that the re-appointment of chief justice Benjamin Odoki was illegal.

Four Justices Solome Bbosa, Eldard Mwanguhya, Remmy Kasule agreed with Justice Lillian Tibatemwa that it was wrong for the President to reappoint Rtd Cheif Justice Odoki.

The four justices ruled that the advice of the Judicial Service Commission a prerequisite for the appointment of the Chief Justice. But Justice Rubby Opio Aweri dissented.
