COURT SUMMONS BESIGYE & KAMPALA LORD MAYOR ELIAS LUKWAGO

Makindye Magistrates Court has this morning again issued criminal summons against Dr. Kizza Besigye and Kampala Lord Mayor Elias Lukwago after the two failed to show up in court for the second time.

Grade one magistrate Miriam Okello Ayo heard that both Dr. Besigye is currently in Lira district holding consultative meetings for FDC party flag bearer in the 2016 presidential elections.

Besigye, Lukwago and two others are accused of disobeying lawful orders of Kampala South metropolitan police commandant Sirajje Bakaleke in two months ago when he ordered them  to disperse from Nsambya sharing hall where they had staged a rally to gather public views about the proposed electoral reforms.

Bakaleke and other police officers have been coming to court ready to testify against the accused who have never returned to court ever since they took plea in June.

Court ordered that all the accused persons be present on 17th September for hearing to commence.
