President Yoweri Museveni has said he is the
best candidate for presidency since he has done
good things in the past.
After being nominated as a presidential candidate for
the 2016 polls at Mandela National Stadium.
The incumbent was declared a presidential
candidate at 10:21am; after going through the
nomination process that involved verification of
his documents.
He was accompanied by his wife Janet, Prime
Minister Ruhakana Rugunda, NRM First Vice
Chairman Moses Kigongo and Northern Youth MP
Evelyn Anite.
After, he held a public rally at Kololo independence
grounds where thousands of supporters swamped the venue.
President Museveni, has been in power for three
decades. He will face seven other presidential
candidates among them his former ally, Amama
Mbabazi, and opposition leader Kizza Besigye,
who is due to be nominated tomorrow.
