Three Journalists Arrested

Police this afternoon under mysterious circumstances nabbed three journalists and whisked them away to unknown destination.
Journalists Alex Otto of Uganda Radio Network (URN), Tumwesigye Arnest of Vision Group known as JB Arnescot and Julius Ocungi of Daily Monitor together with Kilak county member of parliament Gilbert Olanya have been arrested at Parabongo as they headed to Apaa in Amuru district.
Reports indicate that some Journalists followed the vehicle that was heading with the four towards Kampala but gave up at Koro.
Word spreading on the Facebook Page of Uganda Journalist indicates that MP Olanya has been taken to and detained at Bobi Police Outpost on the Gulu-Kampala road though He’s not yet recorded a statement.
In Pabbo (Amuru district) where the MP was headed before his arrest, residents are rioting and police is firing teargas and bullets.
Journalist through their different platforms have began demanding for the unconditional release of the trio whom they claim were in line of duty though radio Simba could not ascertain this by press time.
