State minister for planning warns presidential candidates against making empty promises.

The Minister of State for Planning has warned all
presidential candidates against making empty
promises to the electorate.
Hon. David Bahati says some of the promises
the candidates have made cannot be fulfilled in
the short term. Speaking at the launch of the
State of Uganda and state of the world
population reports, Hon.Bahati said presidential
candidates have been promising to increase
teachers’ salaries, raise the budget allocation for
agriculture and other sectors and provision of
computers and sanitary pads to all school going
children without considering the technicalities
involved. He therefore urges them to stop
exploiting the situation and lying to Ugandans.
