M7 Not Invited for Live TV Debate

The NRM Party Officials have said that the NRM Party has not yet formaly received any communication in regards to the live Tv presidential debate scheduled for 15th January.

The live TV presidential candidates debate is being organised by the inter religious council of Uganda(IRCU) and preparations have been on since early this year but as you read this, one of the expected major debators Yoweri Kaguta Museveni also the NRM 2016 presidential candidate has not formaly received an invitation to the Debate.

According to the NRM Secretary General Justin Kasule Lumumba the NRM candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is very ready though he has not received the invitation to the live debate yet.

Early last month president Museveni told journalists while in Karamoja at a news conference that he is ready for the debate.

“A debate..me i am ready to debate with anybody because i have facts and i speak facts, unless i dont have my mouth but for as long as i move with it i am ready” said Museveni.

However when contacted for a comment, the IRCU secretary general Mr. Joshua Kitakule has said that the invitation was dispached already but maybe because of protocol its yet to reach the head of state.

The first ever Presidential candidates debate is expected to attract all the nine presidential candidates.

They Include NRM’s Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, TDA candidate John Patrick Amama Mbabazi, FDC’s Dr. Col. Kizza Besigye, Independent candidate Prof. Venacious Baryamureeba, Retired Maj Benon Biralo, Joseph Mabirizi, Mourine Kyaalya, and Dr Abed Bwanika.

These will face off at the firat ever live TV debate at Serena Hotel. Only time can tell if they will all attend.
