Police deployed heavily at Makerere University as the non teaching staff assembled to decide on whether they call off the strike or not.
The non teaching staff in public Universities, Makerere branch have dismissed government plea seeking them to pardon their salary increament demands until next year’s budget then they will get salary increament.
This has been resolved by the non teaching staff salaries during their assembly at Makerere University main hall in Kampala.
Speaking to radio Simba after their assembly, the secretary general of the public Universities Non Teaching Staff Twesigye Bruno said that they will maintain the strike until government considers salary increase for them as was the case for the teaching staff.
