EALA adopts motion for
stronger laws against
human trafficking
The EALA MPs said EAC partner states
have fallen short of stopping the vice
of trafficking in persons in the region.
East African legislative assembly
lawmakers have passed a motion
urging the East African community
partner states to expeditiously deal
with the problem of human trafficking
in the EAC region.
While debating a motion moved by
Uganda’s representative Dora
Byamukama, the regional MPs said
EAC partners states have fallen short
of stopping the vice of trafficking in
persons in the region.
The EAC region is ranked number one
on the continent for trafficking in
persons.
