DPP warns Mbabazi’s lawyers

The Director of Public Prosecutions DPP, Mike
Chibita has warned presidential candidate, John Patrick Amama Mbabazi’s lawyers against dragging his
office into partisan politics.
The warning comes days after Mbabazi’s legal
team led by Fred Muwema said that they had
information that the DPP was yet to sanction
criminal charges against their client ahead of his
presdiential nomination last week.
Chibita says he does not have any plans to issue
arrest of any presidential candidate cautioning
that people should not involve his office in
politics. He also says he will not take action
against the lawyers for the propaganda in spirit
of free and fair elections.
The DPP was speaking at a two-day regional
meeting for chief prosecutors at Hotel Africana.
