Accident cases increase in Mulago ahead of Festive season.

At least 30 new accident cases are reported each day
at Mulago National Referral hospital ahead of the Festive season.
Mulago hospital’s public relations officer Enock
Kusasira has said that during the festive season,
the number of accidents increases because
people drive recklessly, especially among boda
bodas cyclists, who form majority of the new
cases. According to hospital records, last month
they registered 242 cases due to boda bodas, an
increase from the 204 cases in September while
82 cases were caused by motor vehicles, and
fortunately the hospital’s emergency and
accidents ward is ready to handle the cases
since it is open 24 hours. Kusasira however adds
that if people can avoid over speeding and other
forms of indiscipline on the road, the money
treating accident victims could be used for other
things.
