Some independent MPs willing to join NRM party want the date for picking the nomination forms be extended.

Some of the independent MPs willing to join NRM want the date for picking the nomination forms for the primaries be extended to allow them participate in the exercise.

The exercise started last week at the party secretariat located at Kyaddondo road  plot 10 in Kampala and it is closing tomorrow 31 st July according to the party electoral commission chairman Dr, Odoi Tang .

The existing law does not allow the independent MPs to cross to any party unless they declare their position  vacant and therefore calling for by election .

in an interview with Radio Simba , Ntenjeru South MP Patrick Nsanja wants the NRM secretary general Kasule  Lumumba extend the date.

On the same note Chairman NRM electoral commission Dr. Odoi Tang tells us that there will be special consideration for such group of people in guidance with the party National Executive  Committee.
