Observe discipline , Museveni tells party members

NRM National Party Chairman Rtd. Gen. Yoweri K. Museveni has urged members to avoid scrambling for positions but instead borrow a leaf from football where a team fields the first eleven players on the pitch and keeps the reserves on the bench.

Museveni was this Wednesday afternoon addressing the party supporters at Kabong S.S playground in Karamoja region.

Speaking before he officially introduced Hon. Roselilly Akello as the party flag bearer for the district woman MP seat, the National Chairman cautioned members against creating unnecessary divisions over leadership positions.

The race has three candidates with Christine Nakwang (independent) as the likely threat to Akello. The third candidate is affiliated to FDC.

“In football you can have many players but with only 11 starting and the rest on reserve….your problem here is that some of you want the reserves on the field of play as well…”, he wondered. He offered to accommodate Nakwang elsewhere if she wished so.
