KACITA protests move by NEMA to impound polythene bags

Kampala city traders association is protesting the move by National environment management authority ( NEMA ) to impound polythene bags or what is locally known as buveera beyond the stipulated microns by Government without minding about the manufactures , traders and the plastic recyclers. Government banned the use, production and sell of buveera below 30 microns but the spokesperson of Kampala city trader’s association Issah Ssekitto says they are perturbed by the decision by NEMA to confiscate all the buveeras. The protest by KACITA follows the statement issued by NEMA yesterday disclaiming the posters by manufactures informing the public on the kind of buveeras that were banned.
