EC announces polling date for the presidential and parliamentary elections.

The Uganda Independent  electoral commission has  announced that the polling date for the presidential and parliamentary elections will be February 18, 2016. There are 8 candidates including incumbent Yoweri Museveni.

They announced this after concluding nomination of eight presidential candidates at Mandela National Stadium.
The candidates are Yoweri Museveni NRM, Amama Mbabazi Go Forward, Vanatius Baryamureba independent, Kizza Besigye FDC, Ben Biraaro independent, Faith Kyalya independent, Abed Bwanika independent and Joseph Mabirizi independent.
President Kaguta Museveni of the NRM is the front-runner, and will be challenged mainly by his former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi of GoForward and FDC’s Kizza Besigye, who is taking another shot after past failures to grab the top job.
