7 candidates vie for UPC party president post

Seven candidates vying for the post of the Uganda Peoples Congress party president kicked off countrywide campaigns this afternoon. The seven are expected to traverse the country and get endorsements from party members in a third of the 112 districts as required by the party constitution. They are Joseph Bossa, Edward Kakonge, Benson Obua Ogwal, Julius Ochen, Dan Okello, David Pulkol and Wandeka Sam Musamali. The countrywide campaigns will run till May 14th.
Meanwhile

The national delegate’s conference is slated for June 12, 2015.
David Baliraine, the chairperson planning and implementation of the UPC roadmap says the district delegates’ conference will sit on May 16th to nominate the seven presidential candidates according to article 11.2 (6) of the party constitution.
