Ugandan Gov’t to Cut Visa Fees for Guests.

The government of Uganda is considering to scale down on the amount of visa fees charged from foreigners intending to visit the country which the tourism minister says is expensive compared to the visa fees charged by regional member states.

The tourism minister, Maria Mutagamba says Uganda charges USD.100 for each visa with her neighbors charging USD.50 something Mutagamba says scares away visitors.

She also adds that they intend to scarp visa charges from children saying they are always paid for by their parents’ accommodation fees among other expenses.

Mutagamba says that these have been discussed in a meeting between her ministry and the finance and internal affairs ministries as a way to promote and attract more tourists in the country.
