Uganda Whistle Blowers Appeal for Better Care of Citizens in Gulf

The Uganda Whistle Blowers Association has appealed to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Okello Oryem, asking the government to do more to protect Ugandans working in the Gulf region. The group’s leader, Ssabafirimbi Musa Majoba, said the workers are our sons and daughters who went abroad to find jobs and support their families back home. He said the government has a duty to protect them.

Mr Majoba expressed concern over continued reports of abuse, unfair treatment, and suffering among Ugandans in countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, and Kuwait. He noted that many workers face serious problems including bad living conditions and denial of their rights. He said their safety must be taken seriously.

The association made three main requests. First, they want Ugandan embassies to closely check the working and living conditions of our people. Second, they want every Ugandan in trouble to get quick help, legal support, and a safe place to st
