TDA to sue government over recent amendments to Electoral laws.

The coalition of opposition parties,  The Democratic Alliance says it will sue  the government over the newly enacted  Parliamentary Elections Amendment  Act and the Presidential Elections  Amendment Act.

The new pieces of legislation among others  increased the nomination fees for  both Parliamentary candidates to Shs3m  million from Shs200,000 and that  of presidential candidates to 20 million  shillings from Shs8 million.

The Democratic Alliance argues that the  amendments were effected with the  intention of entrenching the ruling party .

Meanwhile, the alliance called for harmony  between those in support of FDC  Presidential Flag-bearer Kiiza Besigye  and former Prime Minister Amama  Mbabazi.

The two leaders will both contest for the  Presidency in the 2016 polls afterTDA failed to reach a consensus on a joint  candidate.
