Solar Companies want Government to reduce taxes on Solar equipments

Solar companies are urging Government to further reduce taxes on solar equipments as they import them in the country.

While unveiling their 500,000 customer connected on solar home systems, the head of sales M-Kopa solar company Peter Mugwanya says that if the taxes are low they will be able to connect more people who are not on the national grid at an affordable price.

Mugwanya says that installing a solar power system would help a rural family minimize the risks associated with using kerosene candles and even save money spent on kerosene for candles every day.
