Prime minister intervenes in the pension payment delay.

Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda has directed  the dispatch of a team of officials from Ministry  of Public service to help expedite the process  of payment of pension arrears for thousands  of Ugandans.

Over 8,600 pensioners have  not received their monthly pensions for three  months now.

The delay has been faulted on ministries that are still  verifying pensioners’ records to eliminate ghost  pensioners.

Rugunda says the pending cases will be cleared by  October 15th.
