President M7 says the Pope has Blessed & Publicized Uganda

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni says that the 3 days Pope Visit has helped to publicize Uganda as a tourist destination and a very peaceful country.
According to president Museveni the Pope’s visit is very useful to the faithful ones but also very good for tourism because his holiness the Pope is a very high profile person to visit Uganda .

“ This is very good for tourism , the pope to come here and be here for three days riding in a soft skin vehicle protected by the state security apparatus safely this is very good to show Uganda’s capacity” said President Museveni.

This as he spoke to the press at Entebbe airport shortly after the pope set off flanked by his wife Janet Kataha Museveni also the minister for Karamoja .

President Museveni who is the first Ugandan president to host two Popes during his tenure in office has attributed such a privilege to Ugandans have kept him in power by ballot which has resulted into peace and stability

“It is you Ugandans who are hosting the Pope because you agreed to my formula of having the country peaceful and developing and voted for me in 2001-2011, so the second pope has vested you because of stability” said Museveni

The president who appeared to be in a jolly mood has also commented on the rare hand shake at Namugongo with his former ally and now longtime political enemy Dr Kizza Besigye. The president has said that he has no personal problem with anybody.

“ You see for me I am for Uganda for Africa, I have no other interest in public affairs , for private affairs I have my family and so on but in public it is Uganda and Africa I have no problem with anybody” the president said .

President Museveni who has briefly paused campaigns which he prefers to describe as more of a celebration of the NRM Government achievements is set to resume campaigns on Monday afternoon in the Northern Uganda.
