Police prevents Besigye from leaving his home

Police deployed heavily at former FDC president Dr. Kizza Besigye’s home in Kasangati, to prevent him from leaving on Tuesday.

The police said they suspected that Besigye was planning to cause havoc in the city following a recent announcement he made opposing government’s proposals on electoral reforms.

Besigye and other opposition activists were today expected to present a petition to Parliament for free and fair elections.
