Police officer Arrested Over Possession of Python Skin.

Wildlife law enforcement actors from Natural Resource Conservation Network (NRCN) together with Uganda police officers has arrested one police constable attached to Kiira police station identified as Mugwaneza James together with Muhoozi Bill are known logger in Karuma and Resident of Gayaza this evening at Joka`s Hotel in Bweyogerere .
Mugwaneza was used as security to the seller who was possessing 2 long python skins measuring 6 feet each but had earlier promised to deliver 10 python skins and later changed his mind and delivered two to see if the buyers were Genuine.
According to Muhindo Laban the NRCN deputy publicist, Both are currently detained at Bweyogerere police post and charged with Illegal possession wild life products or trophies and will be produced in court soon.
Pythons often stay in rocky areas and ant-hills that are close to swampy areas where they easily hunt for prey. The pythons feed on small mammals and without them rodents such as rats could increase in population and overwhelm the farming population.
