Operation Fika Salama has registered success – Kasima – Director Traffic

Director Traffic Police Steven Kasima is saying that the bad state of some of our roads in the country have highly contributed to the many accidents that occur.
Kasima notes that many of our roads are narrow while others have potholes especially on highways and that this has led to some accidents which must be addressed.
He adds that according to the last year’s traffic report it indicated that many pedestrians lost lives because they are no pedestrian facilities especially on highways.
He has been speaking to the media shortly after the opening of a 10 day workshop of traffic officers in Kampala metropolitan area at Katwe police station in Kampala.
However Kasima is happy that operation Fika Salama that was launched to reduce on the road accidents especially on highways has registered success and that road users have discipline.
In related development traffic commander Kampala metropolitan area Norman Musinga says that with the launch of Tembeya Salama in Kampala metropolitan area peace and discipline on the road has been realized in the city.
