Mubs Principal appears in court today.

Makerere University Business School (Mubs)
Principal, Prof Waswa Balunywa is expected to appear in court to answer allegations of
illegally holding the office and siphoning money
from the institution.
He will appear before Kololo-based Civil Division
of the High Court for cross examination.
According to court documents, Prof Balunywa is
accused of irregularly using an official letter
head of the office of the principal on a non-
official day (Sunday) to write an application for
the renewal of his contract.
Dr James Akampumuza, a lecturer, who dragged
him to court two years ago claims that the
renewal of Prof Balunywa’s contract was illegal
as there was no advertisement and that he does
not have the necessary qualifications for the job.
Prof Balunywa is sued together with Mubs, the
Attorney General, the Education Service
Commission and former Makerere University vice
chancellor Venansius Baryamureeba.
Recently, Prof Balunywa announced that he will
not seek another term in office come 2018 due
to frustrations from government.
