MP Twinamasiko apologises to women

Mp Bugangaizi East, Onesmus Twinamasiko has apologized to women and the general public for his miscalculated statement supporting wife beating.

In a statement to Parliament, Twinamasiko amidst applause from fellow MPs says that the beating he meant was different from the battering they understood.

However several female MPs rejected his apology saying that he wasn’t clear.

The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanya who was presiding over the proceedings said that although the statement didn’t address the problem, he cautioned MPs on statements they make because they speak for Parliament as an institution.
