Mbabazi denies being offered Vice-President position

Former Prime Minister, Amama Mbabazi, has denied recent press reports that President Yoweri Museveni had offered him the position of Vice-President.

The former premier was speaking a football tournament in Buikwe, Mukono, where he had been invited as chief guest.

Amama Mbabazi said he is ready to meet the President, who is expected to be the chief guest at the week-long celebrations to mark 100 years of Christianity in Kinkizi.

This week, the Bishop of Kinkizi Diocese the Rt. Rev Dan Zoreka called for a reconciliation between President Yoweri Museveni and former Prime Minister Amama, saying it would help the future of the country.
