Makerere suspends tuition policy.

Makerere University has suspended the 100%fees tuition fees payment policy following the nasty strikes  by the students earlier this week. The students  are against the policy which they term as  unfair.

The university administration has decided to meet  in December and review the implementation  of this same policy.

The deadline of paying tuition fees had been extended  to the 12th week of the semester (30th October) but students, who will not have cleared  by then will not be blocked from paying.

The university administration however calls on the  students to use this time to pay. Normalcy has  returned to the campus.

Also students arrested while demonstrating have been  released following a request by the University  student leaders to Police boss, IGP Kale  Kaiyhura on their release.
