Omukulembeze wa National Unity Platform Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine avuddeyo nategeeza nti olunaku olwaleero bakyalidde ku Munnakibiina Yasin Ssekitooleko aka Machete eyaddusiddwa mu Luzira Prison’s Murchison Bay Hospital ngali mu mbeera mbi ddala. Machete yagaana okuddamu okulya akantu konna kati okumala enaku 7 ngawakanya ekyokuba nti ye ne banne bakyakuumirwa mu Kkomera e Luzira so nga Kkooti Ensukulumu yavaayo nejungulula ebyasalibwawo Kkooti y’Amaggye. Machete ategeezezza nti yadde ali mu mbeera mbi tagenda kukomba ku kakulya konna okutuusa ngayimbuddwa oba nga atwaliddwa mu Kkooti y’abantu babulijjo avunaanibwe.

We’ve checked on comrade Yasin Ssekitoleko “Machete” who was rushed to Luzira Prison’s Murchison Bay Hospital in critical condition. He went on a hunger strike more than a week ago, protesting his continued detention in Prison despite the Supreme Court ruling that stopped his trial by the military court.

Despite his extremely worrying health condition, Machete insists that he’ll not call off the hunger strike unless he’s either released or transferred to a civilian court for a fair trial. His stand is a sobering reminder that the principles of proper justice remain non-negotiable.
