Lukwago to fight KCCA proposal

Embattled Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has  vowed to rally Ugandans to reject government’s  proposal to the KCCA Amendment Bill  2015 which seeks among other things to have  the city mayor elected by councilors and not  the public.

In his protest to the proposal, Lukwago says it’s a ploy by president Museveni to disfranchise Kampala  voters contrary to democratic ideals when  they came into power.

Lukwago this morning has said that the president’s  maneuvers are in vain since he will not  return to state house next year.

Museveni faces the biggest competition fromFDC’s Kizza Besigye and Go forward’s Amama Mbabazi  as Uganda heads to the 2016 polls.
