Omusomesa era omuwandiisi w’obutabo obwenjawulo omuli no bw’Olulimi Oluganda Prof. John Cristome Ssekamwa afudde. Ono yazaalibwa nga 29 November 1935, natandika okusomesa mu Junior secondary schools mu 1958. Yafuna PhD okuva mu Makerere University mu 1985.
Yatandika okusomesa mu Makerere University mu Histroy Department mu 1968 nafuuka Senior Lecturer mu 1972, yafuuka Associate Professor mu 1978.
Prof. Ssekamwa yafuuka Professor of Education mu 1990. Yalondebwa ku bwa Dean of Education owa Makerere University mu 1993 okutuusa 2004.

Mu 2005, Prof. Ssekamwa yegatta ku Nkumba University nga Professor of Education era Dean School of Education, Humanities and Sciences.
