Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has warned the public against boarding taxis from non-designated stages. The KCCA boss, Jennifer Musisi says anyone found doing so risks being arrested. With the project; “Off Illegal Parks”, KCCA hopes to compell taxi drivers to use the allocated parking space and ease traffic movements within the city.
However, the Chairman Kampala taxi drivers, Mustapha Mayambala says the available stages set up by KCCA cannot accommodate the hundreds of taxis in the city.
Currently, there are six taxi parks including the Old taxi park, the new park, USAFI, Namayiba Bus terminal, Kisenyi and Nakawa parks.
