KCCA introduces home sanitation visits

Kampala Capital City Authority has introduced home sanitation visits to emphasize hygiene at house hold level in a bid to resist disease.
This has been announced by Kawempe Town Clerk Geoffrey Rwakabaale while addressing residents of Kiwonvu zone at Makerere in Kampala during the commemoration of Kawempe Division Sanitation week.
He says that this exercise is aimed at emphasizing cleanliness and enjoying a clean city he has emphasized that this exercise will also go as far as criminalizing those found littering garbage, mismanaging human waste, unnecessary burning of polyethen among others.

KCCA Public Health officer Allan Nkurunziza says that this resolution was made having realized that Kampala lucks a sewerage line network of which puts the residents of the city at a health risk especially looking at nature of toilet facilities used among communities.
