Kayihura issues threat against media covering opposition events.

The Inspector General of Police Kale
Kayihura has taken a swipe at the
media warning that police would
crackdown on journalists who he says
have turned into political activists due
to their continued live coverage of
opposition events.
Kale Kayihura singled out two TV
stations, NTV and NBS, which he
accused of being partisan because of
their continuous coverage of
opposition events. The IGP said he
would take action against these
stations for what he considered to be
unethical media behaviour.
Kayihura also said FDC will not be
allowed to conduct rallies in eastern
Uganda as earlier planned.
Kayihura made the remarks at police
offices in Naguru.
