EC confirms November 3 and 4 for nomination of candidates.

The National Independent Electoral Commission
(NIEC) has confirmed November 3 and 4 for
nomination of candidates who intend to contest
for presidency in the 2016 elections. According
to EC chairperson, Badru Kiggundu, the
nomination exercise will begin at 10am and end
at 4pm on each of the appointed date at
Mandela National Stadium, Kampala. Kiggundu
further noted that campaigns for presidential
elections will start on November 9, 2015 until
February 2016. The EC also appointed November
16-20 for local council elections. When asked
whether FDC and NRM will be nominated at the
same time since they both booked November 3
for nomination of their candidates, Mr Kiggundu
said he is yet to see a letter from FDC. However,
Mr Kiggundu while addressing the media at the
NIEC headquarters in Kampala on Wednesday
said FDC had addressed their letter to the wrong
office of the Electoral Commission.
