Museveni Warns Yumbe Voters: Politics Is No Game, Choose Wisely in 2026

Yumbe, Uganda – October 17, 2025 – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) presidential candidate, addressed a lively rally in Yumbe District, urging voters to make careful choices in the 2026 elections. “As we approach the polls, know that politics isn’t a game—it’s life and death. A wrong vote can lead to serious trouble,” he said, emphasizing the need for unity and stability.

Yumbe, a West Nile district with over 600,000 people, struggles with poverty, limited electricity (only 12% of households), and poor roads. Museveni promised to address these challenges, including extending the national grid, upgrading roads like Yumbe-Arua, building health centers, and providing tractors for farmers under the Parish Development Model. He highlighted NRM’s role in bringing peace and development to the region since 1986, urging voters to reject divisive opposition politics.

Local leaders praised past efforts like Yumbe’s district status but called for faster progress on infrastructure. Museveni assured them of continued focus on West Nile’s development.
