Botswana Ex-president Visits Katalemwa Cheshire Home in Uganda

The visiting former Botwana president H.E. ketumile Masire has made a courtesy visit to children undergoing disability correctional surgeries and Rehabilitation at katalemwa Cheshire home.

The Totswana ex- president has donated 1.8 million shillings and a consignment of other items donated to him by the Uganda Management Institute (UMI) to benefit children undergoing rehabilitation and corrective disability surgery.

In his remarks, the former president has commended parents for their endless support towards children leaving with disabilities whom he says at times need special needs.

The minister for Disability and elderly Sulaiman Madaada who has escorted the visiting Botswana president has emphasized Gov’t commitment to establish facilities to help PWD’s enjoy full rights like any other person.

However, in his remarks, the Chairperson the board of trustees to katalemwa Cheshire home Kaganda Bakidde says they are short of enough funds to meet the overwhelming demand of disability correctional services to children.
