On 27 Jan 25, Echodu Daniel, owner of a Forex Bureau at Capital Shoppers, contacted the police, claiming to have spotted the thieves who stole from his vehicle on August 23, 2024. The stolen items included Shs 23,400,000, two Apple watches valued at Shs 3,500,000, three original land agreements, UAP insurance cards, and Best Rates Forex Bureau cards.
Upon receiving the information, the police dispatched a team to verify the information and arrest the suspects. When the team arrived at the scene, the suspected thieves sped away in their car. Despite the police deflating their tires, the suspects continued driving until they abandoned their vehicle on Commercial Road and fled on foot.
The police recovered several exhibits, including the vehicle (a dark blue Harrier with registration number UBQ 618M), a pair of number plates (UBN 127F), master keys, a number plate fixer, breaking implements, a power bank, clothing items, a rolled stick of opium, a matchbox, and a black laptop bag. The abandoned vehicle was towed to Ntinda Police Station, and investigations are ongoing.
