Police in Luweero have arrested 11 people for malicious damage of property after they were deployed by a landlord to destroy several acres of pineapples and bananas belonging to a kibanja holder.

The incident has been in Masinga village in Kikyusa Sub County where a man said to have bought land in the area forcefully evicted occupants.

The 11 men in police custody at Luweero central police station are those that had been hired by the said landlord to evict the squatters.

They were rounded up as they cleared farmland of about 10 acres of pineapples and bananas belonging to one Fred Kamya Kavuma.
