Omala who was transferred to Greater Busoga as the Deputy Commander of Bukedea Sector from commandant Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) Field Force Unit in a mini reshuffle mid-April, had vowed not to report to the new station because the transfer out of Kampala was unfair.
Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda has denied media reports that he is the mediator of reconciliatory talks between President Yoweri Museveni and former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi.
There have been reports that Amama Mbabazi has been tipped for the post of Vice President if he reconciles with Museveni. The Vice President offer to Amama Mbabazi is reportedly in exchange for dropping his presidential bid during the 2016 elections. Mbabazi has however not officially declared he would contest against President Museveni in the coming elections.

Two members of Jobless brotherhood, have been granted bail by the court in Jinja. Augustine Ojobile and Frank Nsamba appeared in court and were charged with four counts of inciting violence, unlawful assembly, disobedience and cruelty to animals. The two were arrested last Friday for releasing two piglets, painted yellow on the streets of Jinja with tags demanding for the resignation
of the district LCV chairman Fred Ngobi. They accused him of corruption. The Jobless brotherhood uses piglets in protests against corruption and unemployment.
