More people arrested in Rakai carnibal investigation

The police has arrested more people on suspicion of being part of the carnivals that killed and maimed people in the south western district of Rakai. Two more people were arrested over the weekend bringing the total number of those arrested to 14.

Those arrested over the weekend are Ismail Ssekyanzi, who is related to the late Musujja who committed suicide in a cell at Masaka police station and a one Ramka.
Noah Sserunjogi, the Regional Police Spokesperson, has confirmed the latest arrests saying up to 13 people are in police custody as investigations continue.
Since their arrest three weeks ago, the five prime suspects openly admitted having committed the crime saying they hacked the two victims, ate some meat and distributed the rest to colleagues in their secret network. They also told detectives that they sell human meat at 200,000 shillings a kilogram.
