Uganda Marks International Literacy Day.
Uganda has today joined the rest of the world to mark the world literacy day that falls on every September 8 annually.
National Celebrations for the world literacy day are taking place in Buikwe district headquarters championed by World Education Bantwana Uganda an education NGO.
International Literacy Day 2015 bringings together several stakeholders who mind about education, communities, teachers, learners and experts to discuss ways of reducing illiteracy.
According to the country director of World Education Bantwana an education NGO Susan kajura this day provides a platform to rememorize the status of the literacy and quality of education in Uganda.
Joseph kanaaba the executive director of Youth Alive Uganda has told us that during the celebrations in Buikwe, the Youth and Children minister and that of education will launch a six months pilot project to empower the Youth wit financial literacy, Entrepreneurial skills and Agribusiness.
