Wafula Oguttu feels betrayed by lack of opposition support for reforms debate boycott.
A day after the passing of the
Amendment Bill into law, Leader of
Opposition, Wafula Oguttu, has
revealed that he feels betrayed by
some opposition MPs who backed the
Before the bill was passed, Oguttu
had said that the opposition would
not lend credence to it by debating it
after which he called for a boycott
and walked out of the House. He was
however only followed out by a
handful of opposition MPs with the
majority chosing to remain behind and
debate the bill.
Amongst the prominent opposition
MPs who backed the consitutional
amendments billi is, opposition chief
whip, Cecelia Ogwal and Shadow
Attorney-General, Abdu Katuntu.
