NSSF GIVES AWAY 80M.
National Social security Security Fund(NSSF) has given out million shillings to five community projects which have positively impacted lives of local communities.
This has been done under the Torch Awards which is NSSF Annual corporate social responsibility drive first launched in 2012 to date.
The awards have gone to community projects which have made positive contribution in reducing illiteracy levels, Health, Youth empowerment and disadvantaged groups as defined in the NSSF CSR policy.
While presiding over the awards dinner, first lady Janet Kataha Museveni has applauded NSSF for the initiative.
“We appreciate the NSSF Torch Awards initiative because it complements Governments efforts in creating wealth for all and transforming society” she has said.
While handing over the awards to the 2015 winners, NSSF managing director Richard Byarugaba has pledged continued support to life changing projects.
This years winners include Kyamaleera women Hand Craft Association from Hoima, 40 Days over similes foundation Luweero, Rachele Foundation Comprehensive, Pearl Foundation for children and Widows From Butaleja, Child care and Reacue programme From Gomba.
Each winner from all regions of Uganda has received Shs 15m as prize for their outstanding projects while the National winner has received Shs20m.
